The G12-80s just have more warmth and character to them. It seems like the C90 and G12-80 cover the same ground and respond the same way, but the G12-80 just My 4x12 is loaded with '80s vintage G12-80 speakers. I like them a lot, good balanced tone. Personally I think they sound more like a 65 than a 75. G12-80's were only made from '78-'82. They came in both the 55Hz version and the 75Hz version. However, Marshall only used the 55Hz version.
